A few days ago, Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. reported to the national market supervision and management in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Management of Recalls of Defective Automobile Products", the "Implementation Measures of the Regulations on the Management of Recalls of Defective Automobile Products" and the "Regulations on the Management of Motor Vehicle Emission Recalls" The General Administration has filed a recall plan. Starting from February 2, 2024, some imported Lexus ES 200 cars produced between July 29, 2019 and November 1, 2021 will be recalled, a total of 101,875 vehicles.
Some vehicles within the scope of this recall were improperly assembled between the exhaust manifold bracket and the engine, resulting in the fixing bolts not being tightened to the correct torque. This bolt may loosen while the vehicle is running, causing abnormal vibration of the exhaust manifold. In extreme cases, the flange welding part of the exhaust manifold may crack, causing exhaust gas leakage and posing the risk of unreasonable emissions.
Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will inspect the assembly status of the bolt for vehicles within the recall scope free of charge. If the bolts are not loose, tighten them to the correct torque; if the bolts are loose, replace the exhaust manifold with a new one free of charge to eliminate unreasonable emission risks.
Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will notify relevant users by registered mail or other means.
