At the Guangzhou Auto Show, which opened on November 17, the new generation of MINI pure electric version (MINI COOPER EV) was officially unveiled in China. The new car made its debut at this year's Munich Motor Show.
In terms of appearance, the new car still maintains the classic design elements of the current model, continuing to use the iconic trapezoidal air intake grille, paired with round LED headlights, which has a good visual effect. The door handles are designed to be flush with the body, which helps reduce wind resistance. The roof also adopts a two-tone design, with the upper part painted in white and equipped with a panoramic sunroof. The wheel shape of the new car is the same as that of the three-door version, and it looks more fashionable.
The interior of the new car is simpler. Instead of LCD instruments behind the steering wheel, there"s a head-up display. The central control screen uses a 9.44-inch full LCD OLED display with built-in MINI Operating System 9. The navigation system built into the new central control screen can provide charging route planning. In addition, the new screen will also provide three modes: Core, Green, and Go-Kart, each with its own unique interface design and additional lighting and sound effects.
New cars will be equipped with Spike voice assistant in the future, which provides quick and easy control of navigation, phone, radio, temperature and other functions through voice commands. In the future, new cars will also support OTA remote upgrades. In addition, you can download different applications through the mall, including video software, games, Spotify, etc.
In terms of power, the new MINI COOPER will be available in two models. The entry-level MINI Cooper E is equipped with a 135kW (184 horsepower) electric motor, matched with a 40.7kWh battery pack. The high-end version of the MINI Cooper SE is equipped with a 160kW (218 horsepower) electric motor and a 54.2kWh battery pack. It has a maximum cruising range of 402 kilometers under WLTP conditions and accelerates from 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds.
