According to foreign media reports, due to a defective collision sensor, Land Rover recalled 19 new-generation Range Rovers produced in the United States between February 2 and February 22, 2022.
Land Rover noticed the problem in April and immediately launched an investigation at the factory. It stopped shipments on April 5 and subsequently reported the problem to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The bureau has filed a recall plan.
It is understood that the specific reason for the recall is that the two collision sensors have the risk of loosening over time, causing the airbag to Open suddenly while driving, thereby increasing the risk of injury to vehicle passengers. Fortunately, Land Rover is not aware of any accidents or injuries resulting from this defect.
Users of the new generation Range Rover who were notified of the recall are required to drive their vehicles to a designated Land Rover repair shop. Technicians will tighten the front collision sensor firmware to ensure that it can work properly. Repairs will be free.
